about

Hi, I'm
Angela Hunt,
I'm A Lifestyle Photographer

Mother to two daughters, two stepsons, a Westie/Scottie dog with a touch of grouchiness, a rescue cattle dog, and wife to a self-taught musician. Embracing the chaos, I am a sleep-deprived coffee addict and aspiring minimalist. I eagerly anticipate getting to know you and your family soon.

How AH Photography Works

01

Securing your appointment

Your reservation is secured with a paid deposit, and the date for your photo session or the anticipated arrival of your newborn is officially scheduled.

02

What to Wear

I will give you the AH Photography prep guide. Please refer to this guide for ideas for what to wear.

03

The Shoot

Your session! The day before you can expect a text to confirm your session, make sure everyone is happy, healthy and ready to go.
If you need to reschedule for any reason, I would love as much notice as possible however sometimes that is only a hour, yay for kids!
I have a young daughter so I understand. I appreciate your 'parent to parent' understanding that life happens to us all.

04

After the Shoot

Upon receipt of your final payment, I'll provide a sneak peek of your photos. About two weeks post-session, I'll email you to schedule an in-person appointment to review and choose your preferred images, products, or packages. Feel free to share your positive experience with friends and family, and if you share your images on social media, a shout-out would be greatly appreciated. More details on the in-person appointment
will be provided later.

What to Expect

My goal for each session is to establish a warm and welcoming atmosphere for both children and families.

Upon your arrival, I’ll take the time to connect with your children, aiming to make them feel at ease and comfortable in my presence.

If we’re shooting in your home and backyard, I’ll do a quick survey to identify optimal lighting and photo locations.

Preparation is key. The most successful shoots happen when parents are relaxed and in good spirits. Having everyone ready before I arrive helps minimize any stress on your end.

I plan to arrive post-feeding to ensure the children are well-rested and fed, increasing the likelihood of cooperation. Of course, life happens, so if they’re a bit cranky, hungry, or tired, I can work with that!

A couple of helpful tips: you don’t need to instruct the kids to smile; leave that to me (unless you have specific tricks, especially for shy children—we can discuss those during our in-person or Skype call before the shoot).

Just be yourselves! We’ll explore various shots, and not all of them will be perfect, and that’s perfectly fine. The most natural and beautiful moments will shine through.

Punctuality is crucial. We’ve scheduled your session based on the available light, and especially at home, starting on time (or even a bit early) is essential.

Lastly, while I appreciate efforts to encourage cooperation from older siblings, I advise against using phones or tablets as incentives. This often results in disengagement or rushed photos. Instead, opt for a few favorite songs for the younger kids to create a relaxed atmosphere. If all else fails, I might resort to Peppa Pig, but only towards the end of the session.

I’m excited to capture beautiful moments with your family!

Frequently Asked Questions

Our portrait experience you can choose either a 1 hour or 2 hour session. And two hours for newborn photo shoots just in case little one needs feeding or settling throughout.

If it is wet and soggy, we will reschedule. If it is hot, we will find some shade. If it is overcast but dry, we will go ahead as some of my favourite sessions have taken place on cloudy days.

Treats for the kiddies (bribery perhaps), a beautiful blanket, water, your little ones favourite toy ..... a relaxed and positive vibe.

Absolutely! Fur babies are most welcome. If you bring your pup along, make sure they get some brisk exercise before coming. This will allow for a (hopefully) slightly calmer canine during your shoot.

If you're sick, we reschedule! Simple as that. Working with children I understand the last minute calls or texts due to illness, it occasionally happens .. We want this to be a 100% positive experience, so there's no need to force it if anyone is unwell.

We will make an appointment to meet in person to go through all the photos together in

approximately 2 weeks after your session. If you requesting just an online gallery instead of

the in person to view your gallery please let me know ahead of time . During this time you

will be able to pick your art piece for the wall and other options. Once you choose your

photos, you will then be given a private online viewing gallery with a username and password.

If you are planning on purchasing wall art etc, the process will be slightly different. Once your order is placed I will send you a confirmation email along with your invoice, orders will not be fulfilled until the invoice is paid in full.

What to Wear

1. Have a handful of wraps and simple outfits on hand.

2. Bare feet for the whole family is ideal as we almost always end up on your

bed (as that’s usually a room with great light).

3. Keep in mind any items that are personal to you that you might wish to

include in your newborns session- a knitted blanket from Gran, a teddy from

newly appointed big sister.

4. Have your bed made, a neutral or block colour cover works well and helps

your family and baby stay the focus.

MATERNITY SESSIONS

What to Wear

1. Avoid trends. You don’t want to look back in 20 years thinking “why was I

wearing that?!” because something is now out of style. That’s why I prefer just

wearing a simple flowy dress, or jeans and a cute top.

2. Layer and add accessories with a hat, necklace, jacket, scarf or a belt above

your bump.

3. Tight fitted clothing or a dress that accentuates your bump it a must.

4. Be it neutral or pastel tones, block colour or bright patterns, let your outfit

speak your personality. It is important to feel as much like ‘you’ as possible.
